Message from the chairperson

SEWA was established by Mrs Lally Saini in year 2002 and various social activities are progressing under the flagship of SEWA organization.

• Working in the field of child education, helping under privileged children achieve the basic elementary education. Adopting children from Govt. schools and helping them with their schools fee, books or any other study requirement.
• Getting the school dropouts back to school under sarb siksha abhiyan and setting up of AIE centers and latter mainstreaming of the children to become part of regular schools.
• Getting various govt. sponsored educational schemes implemented for the needy and deserving students.
•  Helping in opening of creches for underprivileged under child welfare council.
•  Running vocational training centers for rural girls by forming Women's Self Help Groups promoting social awareness, education and training for marginalized women.
• Trained in tailoring courses, hand and machine embroidery, soft toys, Flower making course, Jute Articles, Food Items preparations, Beauty care courses for a duration of six months .Vocational Training Centers run in Rural areas of Distt. Shaheed Bagat Singh Nagar The girls are from needy families, they are charged a monthly fee of Rs 20/ per student. Teacher salary is provided by the NGO.The Location to run the courses are mostly by village panchayats either in the Panchayat Ghar or a religious place.
• Setting up Computer Training Centers for rural youth with Basic computer education. Centers are run by SEWA NGO in association with Distt Red Cross Society. We are investing heavily in spreading computer education at the grassroots.
