Education is both the means as well as the end to a better life: means, because it empowers an individual to earn his/her livelihood and the end because it increases one's awareness on a range of issues – from healthcare to appropriate social behaviour to understanding one's rights - and in the process evolve as a better citizen. SEWA’s educational initiatives include the following:
The NGO organizes a medical check-up for students regularly so that they could maintain the healthy living. A healthy mind stays in a healthy body and students are ensured with both of them.

SEWA organises free health camps under our health programme which aims to take comprehensive health care services (preventive, promotive and curative) for the most underprivileged population in rural areas and urban slums. SEWA’s Health Care initiatives include the following:

Under the livelihood programme short-term courses are being offered to develop/enhance the skills/practical applications leading to income generation activities. These courses and skills can be broadly classified under: Computer-aided applications, Electrical /Electronic Repairs, Handicrafts, Information Technology, Generator Repair, Beauty Culture.
Our vocational training centres are also catering to specific industry’s demand to prepare skilled workforce for them from amongst the local population.

Programmes such as exhibitions, audio-visual shows, talks, meetings, celebrations, melas, quality of life improvement programmes are being taken up on different occasions.

One of the major aims of the SEWA is to create a society which provides equal opportunities to all irrespective of the social and economic barriers. This can only be achieved if different empowering interventions are done at different levels.
Most of the programs initiated by us aim towards empowerment of the needy women, the underprivileged and the marginalized who has always been the exploited class.
